Many of CCFPD's personnel are specially trained Hazardous Materials Technicians.  We are an integral part of the St. Louis County Hazardous Materials Response Team.  Unit HM23 is housed at our Engine House #1, and is the primary response vehicle for all HazMat/WMD related calls.  HM23 contains all of the various meters, tools and protective gear needed to safely respond to an incident, determine the origin and scope of containment, and perform life safety actions.
